One of the most famous stainless steel applications is in household appliances, namely:

• Cutlery: silverware, kitchen knives and other accessories
• Tableware and baking pans
• Cooking pans and réchaud sets
• Pitchers and several kitchen utensils

Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, hence preserving the original quality of the products for a long time.
Its smooth and non-porous surface (similar to glass) hinders food buildups and makes it easier for them to be cleaned, thus avoiding bacteria proliferation in the objects. It is the perfect material for applications that are exposed to the risk of contamination by microorganisms (it has a bacteria retention rate 10 times lower than plastic or enameled steel); therefore contributing to the asepsis and hygiene required for health and food handling.

In addition, it does not alter the smell, color and flavor of food and beverages since it does not peel off metallic particles even if left in contact with food and the like for a long period.

White line applications include:

• Cooktops
• Washer baskets
• Hoods and purifiers
• Refrigerator doors
• Microwave ovens and electric ovens
• Washer and stove cabinets

Besides being pleasing to the eyes, versatile and fashionable, stainless steel has many characteristics that afford the kitchen an extremely functional feature.
It is an easy-to-clean material and residues are removed in the turn of a hand, very practical for cooktops applications. There is no need to coat stainless steel for protection, since it does not peel off in use.
Stainless steel is highly resistant to soaps, detergents, bleaches and softeners, which are widely used in white line products, therefore affording long life to those products.

When used in washing machine baskets, even if scratched, it does not generate burs, which otherwise would damage clothes during the washing cycle. A strong material even when in contact with high temperatures.
