The Industry Sector is responsible for the management of customers' portfolio divided into four sectors.
CAPITAL GOODS
The capital goods sector consists mainly of boiler shops and machine and equipment manufacturers. In this sector, ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil’s stainless steel finds application to many different industries, such as: oil digging, chemical and petrochemical, paper and celluloses, beer and orange juice industries, pharmaceutical and provision industries, agricultural tools and alcohol and sugar refineries. Examples of applications: celluloses / sugar cooking, evaporation and drying; storage tanks for orange juice; flexible pipes for oil digging; beer fermentation systems and equipment for milk cooling system, etc. The most common steel grades used for these applications are AISI 316 and AISI 304 due to their durability and high resistance to corrosion in severe environments.
One of the most recent developments by ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil was the AISI 444 stainless steel pipe for sugar mills. Thanks to their high resistance to corrosion, easy cleaning and efficient heat exchange feature, these pipes are more and more used in cooking and evaporating systems at sugar mills.
CIVIL CONSTRUCTION
The civil construction sector comprises companies that manufacture stainless steel elevators, water tanks, tiles and solar heating systems.
The AISI 304 stainless steel grade is widely used in internal lining panels for elevators’ cabinets and doors affording a highly durable modern look.
Water tank is a new application for the AISI 444 ferritic stainless steel grade. This innovating product combines stainless steel’s hygienic and easy-to-clean features with durability and lightness.
OUTSIDE PROCESSORS
This sector comprises re-rolling companies and manufacturers of disks for stainless steel coins. The AISI 430 stainless steel grade is widely used for coining. Stainless steel coins are able to keep its shinning aspect and shape for a long time even though constantly being manipulated.
The stainless steel re-rolling process is used for producing thin stainless steel sheets up to 0.05 mm thick. Re-rolled stainless steels are used in the automobile, dental equipment, electronic terminals, springs, etc.
SEAM-WELDED STAINLESS STEEL TUBES
Due to their high resistance to corrosion, mechanical resistance and hygienic features, stainless steel tubes are widely used in automobile, oil, chemical and petrochemical, paper and celluloses, and food industries.
Stainless steel tubes are used in pipes for conveyance of chemical products, subway car components, street and domestic furniture, heat exchanger, chemical and oil, paper and cellulose industries. |
