PRESENTATION

All steel processing phases are performed by ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil in its steelworks located in Timóteo, Minas Gerais State. In the Ironmaking Area, which has two blast furnaces, the iron ore is transformed into pig iron, a raw material to produce steel. In the Melt Shop Area, the reduction process of the carbon contained in the pig iron takes place, where certain alloys are added for the production of different steel grades. Still in the same area, the steel is cast into slabs and send to the Hot Strip Rolling Mill, to be rolled to the specified thickness. The silicon steel is sent to the Cold Rolling Mill for additional thickness reduction. The stainless steel can be sent to be cold-rolled and sold as hot coils. The cold- and hot-rolled stainless steel coils are sent to service centers where they will be cut and undergo adaptations to finish specifications requested by the customers.
