ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil is the only integrated producer of flat stainless and silicon steel in Latin America, having a performance that sigularizes it among the greatest global players in the steel sector. In addition, the Company has high technology in the production of alloyed carbon steel.
It is the leader in its Brazilian market segment with a 90% share, and exports to other 57 countries. The export business was boosted by the integration with the distribution network of ArcelorMittal, one of the world’s largest steelmaking groups, with headquarters in Luxembourg and ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil’s major shareholder.
ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil is a state of the art company also technology wise. The Plant, located in the municipality of Timóteo in the Vale do Aço region, in the State of Minas Gerais, has installed capacity for the production of 900,000 tons/year of hot metal and a modern Research Center, which develops and tests products for several applications in the market. The Company directly employs about 3,000 people.
The environment and the communities involved are also part of the Company’s business. To back up this concept, the Company continuously invests in environment-oriented process improvements, in addition to implement educational programs and environment-related projects involving employees and the community.
The cultural, educational, community work and training areas obtain special assistance from ArcelorMittal Acesita Foundation, widely known in Brazil as well as abroad for its projects developed in the community of Timóteo. Today, the activities are also developed in Vale do Jequitinhonha, where ArcelorMittal Jequitinhonha is located.
