The annual production capacity is 120,000 t of flat stainless steel for cutlery, consumer durables, civil construction, transportation, industrial machines and equipment and coins, with any Latin American competitors.

Acesita’s Quality System – SQA, the Company’s management standards, assures the achievement of ISO 9002 Certificate – Excellence in Customers’ Service, granted by ABS Quality Evaluations Inc.
Acesita founds Acesita Foundation for Social Development, giving support to education, culture, environment and community work.

Progress towards three important objectives: technological modernization of the Company, implementation a new industrial configuration and the continuity in expanding its silicon and stainless steel sectors – products with higher added value.

The crankshafts produced by the Forgery area are shipped to domestic and foreign automobile industries.
1997
Modernization of the steel plant, expansion of Sá Carvalho Power Plant and construction of Institute de Artesãos de Timóteo (craftsmen institute), which would be later called Instituto do Inox (stainless steel institute).
Acesita implements and promotes the project called ‘Timóteo, the Stainless Steel Capital’, with the aim to make the city a supplying center of stainless steel products and services.
Instituto do Inox is created. The project has the support from Timóteo City Hall, Sebrae, Indi and Aciati (Timóteo’s commercial association) and is coordinated by ADT – Agency for the Development of Timóteo.

1998
With investments as high as US$ 600 million, the Company completes its fourth expansion phase in the second quarter of 1998, thus increasing the stainless steel line capacity from 160,000 t/year to 290,000 t/year.
Acesita is associated to Usinor. The agreement with the pension fund enables an investment of R$ 1.02 billion, which empowers the capital structure, speeds up corporate development and strengthens its strategic position in the market.
