Environmental education for employees and family.
Environmental education for sustainable development of Vale do Aço, in Minas Gerais State, is a gratifying challenge for ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil, because the region houses one of the largest areas of Rain Forest preserved in the State. Its main education instrument is Oikós - ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil's Center of Environmental Education, founded in 1993.
To provide a systemic vision of the environment, kindling the employees' pro-active participation in environmental issues inside and outside the company, as of 2003 the program of environmental education for ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil's and contractors' employees was implemented.
With the same intent, the program also promotes and motivates visits of employees and family to Oikós.
